FDA bans Red No. 3 artificial dye used in candy, beverages, and other foods.
Over thirty years ago, Red No. 3 was banned for use in cosmetics, so this is long overdue!
Evidence shows that this synthetic dye can cause cancer in lab rats.
This is great progress, and now we are hoping the other dyes will fall too!
However, I am particularly concerned about Red No. 40, Yellow No. 6, and Blue No. 1, as these are the artificial dyes found in soda.
Red No. 40 contributes to neural and behavioral issues, and it is STILL OUT THERE.
READ ALL INGREDIENT LABELS especially on food/ products for your kids.
Here are some current mainstream sodas that contain RED DYE 40:
- Mountain Dew Code Red
- Fanta
- Hawaiian Punch
- Squirt
- Sunkist
- Seven Up Flavors
- Wild Cherry Pepsi
Even Gatorade & Prime beverages contain Red No. 40 and other harmful artificial dyes.
When the spark to create Sodee Pop ignited, and I started researching and formulating.. The 2 non-negotiables I insisted on were:
- No High-Fructose Corn Syrup
- No DYES or Artificial Colorings
And that's exactly what I delivered.
